Ok, Ok…
I told you guys that I am lame when it comes to technology! And well, I was not kidding….to prove it, I just started to Tweet.
I know, I know, everyone is tweeting-everyone but me, that is! Or I should say that WAS!
I guess I am coming in so late in the game because on the one hand I didn’t want to be doing what everyone else is doing because I consider myself an individual and I did not want to follow the pack. But sometimes following the pack is just the way to go! As in the case of tweeting,….twittering, tweets?
And well, I guess I am a slow learner sometimes, too! I mean, I am on Face book, and I have had my website since 1990 or so but I was not on tweet (or should I say twitter, I am still confused!)
Anyway, I had a website, not because I did it, but because a nephew somewhere in the family was great at websites and computers and insisted on putting me online.
You know back then, someone actually had my NAME! What I mean is that they took CarolAlt.com even though they were not Carol Alt! I mean, come on, we were barely into the ‘90’s at that point!! I get it now, but to think so far ahead as to have taken famous names and block them to sell them? And to think of that in ‘90? That takes some forward thinking as well as a belief that the web would take off and everyone who was anyone would want a website in their NAME! And well, I guess I was flattered as well as annoyed that someone thought my name BIG enough to block it out. Me, Madonna, and Budweiser beer…..all those big names-and little ole me! But tweeting is new. And there is so much to learn. And well, I have not been able to learn it all. I can for instance, actually do the tweet-and amazingly enough, in 140 recognizable words.
I am still learning the shortcut language of tweeting. Maybe that will make this whole thing easier. But, I have not been able to do the answering to other tweets just yet.
I think, “One thing at a time.” But my Media Consultant friend, Connie, thinks it imperative to learn to communicate using the tweet.
Well, I guess I can only move about how fast I can move….
But I AM Tweeting!!! I am there. I am in the New Millennium! And I am getting more and more technical-not by choice, but by necessity! And even if I am not all there yet, I know my fans will bear with me….
Because they know that sooner or later, I will be able to communicate two-way with them and not just one-way!Not just by telling them what I am up to or giving raw tips but by answering questions, too!
