I have several people going through the photos (although not nearly as many as are needed to go through all the responses!!) We have put the four finalists on the Harper Collins website... And we will have the winner on Dec. 11th. Please understand something. If your daughter for any reason does not win- it will may have had nothing to do with your daughter! Most photos we received were hard to see!! Yes, that is right, in some the lighting, although beautiful or moody or sexy, was not conducive to seeing the actual face of the model...and we needed to see 'MAC' (the lead character in my book) in our winner's face... and of course, this is all arbitrary as everyone had a different idea of who MAC was/is So, it had less to do with looks and more to do with a 'feeling' gotten from a photo.. And some photos were of girls who were not the right age...Mac is 19 in the book! So, to you Sheila, and to Elizabeth and to everyone else who sent in a photo- we are not the be all end all judges of beauty; to me beauty comes in all sizes, shapes, colors and ages.... and of course cannot be captured in one photo in one second during one moment of a life.....
